The history of the SKODA Central Research Institute goes back to 1907, when
During many decades of its existence, and following the development in the company's production programme,
the Institue has gone through many structural changes, such as:
1907
- establishment of the SKODA Central Research Institute - were builded modern chemical, metalographic
and mechanical laboratories started their operation aimed at ensuring high quality of the SKODA metallurgical
and armament products.
1953
- the establishment of the Mechanical Engineering Research section, including various
scientific disciplines related to mechanical engineering
1963
- the opening of the Dynamic Testing Laboratory, specialized in demanding dynamic stress testing of large mechanical structures
1992
- the incorporation of the Electrical Engineering Research section, with specific activities related to manufacturing and operation of large electric mechinery and equipment
1993
- four experimental laboratories acquired the status of National Testing Laboratory
- the founding of an independent business unit SKODA VYZKUM s.r.o., in the form of a company with limited liability, being a subsidiary of SKODA a.s.
1998
- the company acquired the certificate of fulfilment criterion of CSN EN ISO 9001 on quality system
- incorporation of the company to the list of checked contractors
- requirements CEZ, a.s., on quality system.
2001
- Renovation of accreditation of laboratories on the new technical standard CSN EN ISO/IEC 17025
- Enlargement on two accredited laboratories
